BACKGROUND

I am Abdul – Fatawu Zakaria, a thirty (30) year old man, born in Hamile in the Upper West region of Ghana to Mr. and Mrs. Zakaria. I am happily married to Mrs. Abdul- Fatawu Khadija and blessed with a son.

EDUCATION

Abdul- Fatawu Zakaria completed T. I Ahmmadiyya JSS in Hamile and furthered his education to St. Michaels Boys Secondary School where he studied General Arts and completed in the year 2005. He studied Field Technician in Disease Control in College of  Health, Kintampo, and graduated in 2009. He is currently a final year student in the Catholic University College of Ghana, studying Public Health and Allied Sciences, majoring in Health Education.

LEADERSHIP POSITIONS HELD

With his zeal to contribute and impact positively to society, gave him the ability to serve in various leadership and volunteering service. Notably among them are;

Ø Disease Control Officer  for Gambaga Sub District from 2010 to date

Ø Local PUSAG President in Catholic University College of Ghana, 2014/2015

Ø Focal Person, Nutrition and Malaria Control Program in Gbintiri Sub- District, East Mamprusi, 2010 to 2013

Ø President of the Ghana Muslim Students Association, Catholic University  Ghana, 2014/2015

Ø Sales volunteer, Springboard Road Show 2014, Sunyani

Ø Member of National PUSAG Health Committee

ACHIEVEMENTS

With the spirit of selfless leadership and team work, he led and partner his team to achieved the following

Ø He was part of team of student leadership in the Catholic University College of Ghana which:

· procured 740 pieces of auditorium furniture ;

·  reviewed their SRC constitution

· The Chairman, committee on affordable transport for CUCG students; Collaborated with DKM to ease transportation burden on the  university’s weekend students;

· Organized the most attended carrier seminar on CUCG campus moderated by Dr. Jeff Bassey of GTI

· Led a team to construct  a mosque with support of the Saudi Arabian Embassy for the Ghana Muslim Students Association.

Ø Establishment of Cold Chain Unit for improved immunization for Gbintiri

Ø Educated fellow senators and observers at the 9th PUSAG Congress on Hepatitis B
